  • Tuesday 3rd January: TRIP to the Pantomime @ The Birmingham Hippodrome.  Meet outside the village hall at 5pm for the coach.

  • Tuesday 17th January @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  ‘Quiz Night – an entertaining evening with Alan Tumber’.  COMPETITION = Wear a silly hat.

February 2023

  • Tuesday 21st  February@ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall. ‘Climate Matters – Staffordshire’ with Michaela Fyson.  COMPETITION = An item of recycled material (a bit of fun!)
  • Thursday 23rd February @ 7pm: SFWI County Quiz @ the County Showground.  Has Karen P had your name for 1 of our teams for the night?  Remember to share lifts wherever possible please, pack your picnic for the evening … & sort out how to decorate your Team Table…. Oh, & have fun!!!

April 2023

  • Tuesday 18th April @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  SPEAKER: Darren Rudge – ‘Teabags, Bras & Tights’.  COMPETITION = A photograph of your favourite garden.
  • Thursday 20th April: St Georges’ Day Tea @ the Village Hall. (3-5pm)
  • Tuesday 25th April: SFWI Homes & Gardens Day @ the County Showground: ‘Spring is Here’  Has Karen P got your name for this event? – don’t forget to sign up ASAP please.

May 2023

  • Tuesday 16th May @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall. = AGM … followed by cheese & wine & a chat!  COMPETITION = An item of WI memorabilia.
  • Wednesday 24th May @6-30pm: TRIP to Donnachi & Towney Vets in Rugeley.
  • Wednesday 31st  May – Thursday 1st June: Staffordshire County Show @ the County Showground.

  • Thursday 8th June: Afternoon Tea (3-5pm) @ the Village Hall Cost = £5-00.
  • Satrurday 10th June: Hamstall Ridware Village Fete.
  • Wednesday 14th June: Skittles evening @ The Shoulder of Mutton Public House, Hamstall Ridware. Cost = £12-00 (inc. BBQ/buffet)
  • Tuesday 20th June @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  SPEAKER: Millie Freeman – ‘Mother’s Ruin’.  BYO Gin – & tonic/mixer/special glass etc!. COMPETITION = A decorated bottle – empty or full!

July 2023

  • Tuesday 4th July (1030-12noon): Take a Break Cafe @ the Village Hall.
  • Saturday 8th July: Hill Ridware Village Fete (3pm-10-30pm).  We will have a promotional stall at this event – black, pearls & sunflowers….  We’ll also be running a ‘Guess the number of balloons in the car’ competition (thanks to Jeanette!) with a mega hamper as a prize.
  • Tuesdy 13th July: TRIP – Tractor Ride around Fisherwick Farm.  Cost = £9-00 (includes buffet).
  • Tuesday 18th July @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  ‘A Taste of Summer’ – a tasting evening, so get those taste buds working & your scoring pads ready!
  • Saturday 29th July: ‘Menafest’ @ The Chadwick Arms.  We will have a Jarbola stall at this event – black, pearls & sunflowers….

August 2023

  • Tuesday 15th August @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  SPEAKER: ‘Joliba Drums’.  COMPETITION = Somethign you can drum.

September 2023

  • Tuesday 5th September (1030-12noon): Take a Break Cafe @ the Village Hall.
  • Friday 8th September @ 7-30pm: TRIP to see ‘Blood Brothers’.  Cost = £42-00 (inc. coach travel)
  • Tuesday 19th September @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  SPEAKER: Jan Mitchell – ’20 Ways to Lift Your Spirits’.  COMPETITION = A piece of jewellery that lifts your spirits.

October 2023

  • Tuesday 3rd October (1030-12noon): Take a Break Cafe @ the Village Hall.
  • Tuesday 17th October @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  This is a ‘Have a Go’ craft evening – preparation for Remembrance & World Kindness Day. e.g. poppies (knit, crochet, papercraft), decoupage hearts, paint/decorate stones, posies (knit/crochet) etc.  COMPETITION = An item of craft.

 

November 2023

  • Tuesday 7th November (1030-12noon): Take a Break Cafe @ the Village Hall.
  • Sunday 12th November: Ridwares Remembers @ the Village Hall.  Service begins @ 1045.  * Can you help with baking cakes etc &  helping to serve tea/coffee afterewards?
  • Monday 13th November: World Kindness Day.
  • Tuesday 21st November @ 7-45pm: Monthly Meeting @ the Village Hall.  SPEAKER: Dean Nixon – ‘Bah Humbug’. COMPETITION = Your favourite Christmas Decoraation

 

December 2023

  • Friday 1st December: Tinsel & Trimmings @ the Village HallDoors open @ 6-30pm.  Christmas Tree lights to be switched on @ 7pm.  Cake, craft & tombola/Jarbola stalls.  Mulled wine, tea/coffee & mince pies – as well as carols & the Lea Hall Brass Band.  * Don’t forget your Jarbola/Tombola contributions!
  • Tuesday 5th December (1030-12noon): Take a Break Cafe @ the Village Hall.
  • Tuesday 19th December: Christmas Party @ Beaudesert Golf Club.  Cost = TBC  Don’t forget your ‘Secret Santa’! * Please return your menu chices to Karen W by the November meeting.
